It is getting to be that time of the year. The leaves will be changing colors, people start going back to school… and the bourbon craze begins. Some people wait for the Pappy collection to be released, some for the promises of hope, birthday bourbon, four roses small batch, WT Diamond… whatever. I wait for the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. My mouth drools for some of these bourbons to come out. Now, you may be thinking, wow, that sounds great, I will definitely go and pick some of these up. Good Luck. They will normally be sold old minutes after they are released, or be put into a raffle.

My favorite of the collection is George T Stagg, a beast of a bourbon, that is high of proof and, to me, the most flavor packed of the bunch. As I was trying to understand the approximate age of each of these offerings, it was like pulling teeth. There, was no real space that had them all. So, I have put together a listing of the proof, approximate age and some details about each year of the antiques collection.
